Transfiguration of the Lord
“While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!” Matthew 17:5
You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service, either in person or on Face Book. The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Best Friends Forever” (Exodus 24:12-18; Matthew 17:1-9). Special Music will be “Farther Along” played on the dulcimer by Nancy Carlzen. Hymns for the day include “God Is Here!,” “Fairest Lord Jesus,” and “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Opportunities for Spiritual Growth During Lent:
- There will be an Ash Wednesday Service at 4:00 p.m. on February 22nd.
Host church will be Prescott Valley United Methodist, 8944 E. Sommer Drive (south of Lakeshore, East of Navajo). All are invited.
- Lenten Bible Study – “Jesus Revealed: The I Am Statements in the Gospel of John. Written by popular Bible study author Matt Rawle, we will explore the I Am statements in John as works of art that resonate throughout the Gospel and all of Scripture. “Jesus Revealed” will begin on Tuesday, February 28th, at 10:30 a.m. and continue for the six weeks of Lent. Study books are available on the round table at the side of the sanctuary.
- Because the road were icy and we couldn’t have circle last week, the Hope Circle will meet this Wednesday, February 22nd, at 10:00 a.m.
- If you didn’t receive one last week, there are copies of the 2023 Mingus View phone directory on the round table at the back for you to take home.
- Greeters and hosts for Fellowship Hour are needed! Sign up sheets are posted on the back bulletin board.
- Who are . . . the Prayer Families? Each week, two individuals and/or families are singled out for special “prayer attention.” It is hoped that each person prays for members of the Mingus View family always, but the Prayer Families are a way to focus prayers on individuals. A schedule for the year is put together, and based on the current number of family and friends, each individual family is on the prayer list approximately every 6 months.
