ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • 2022 MISSION PROJECT!  You most likely recall that last Spring, we had a lot of fun raising money to purchase a Family Farm Bundle through the Presbyterian Mission Agency Giving Catalog.  The congregation was so generous that we were actually able to purchase TWO farm bundles and some extra piglets and chicks.  This year, the Mission & Stewardship Team has decided on buying a Garden Well.  In many places in the world, especially Africa, getting access to clean water is a difficult task.  Having a well and a hand pump will provide a reliable and convenient source of clean water right at home.  Since water and its availability are of concern to us here in Arizona, the team thought this would be a worthy project.  The goal to purchase one garden well and pump is $1,500.00.  Designate your gifts for Garden Well.  THANK YOU!
  • The Session will meet for their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 17th, at 1:00 p.m.  Materials are available in the office.  There will also be a VERY short meeting of Session members following worship.
  • The Hope Circle will meet on Wednesday, May 18th at 10:00 a.m.  Please read Lesson 9.  Let Marilyn Walker know if you plan to attend.
  • Habitat for Humanity is back to building houses and they would love to have our weekly donations of homemade cookies! Sign-up on the back bulletin board if you can help us out with a week or two!  Please bring your cookies in on Sunday, and Emma Hall will deliver them.
  • The Year of the Bible questions for the Week of May 15th are:
  • When God judges Solomon by breaking up his kingdom, who is to become king of the ten tribes in the North?
  • For what reason, according to Paul, has God given different gifts to different people within the congregation?

Answers next week!!

Answers from last week:

1. Which Psalm records David’s prayer of confession because of the affair with Bathsheba? (Psalm 51 records David’s prayer of confession following the affair with Bathsheba.)

2. What does Paul think of lawsuits begun by Christians against other Christians?    (Paul says that Christians should seek to solve grievances with the church, even to the point of being defrauded, rather than take each other to court.  1 Corinthians 6:1-8).
