Mingus View Presbyterian Church. . .

. . . a fellowship of believers proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, nurture, and striving to exhibit the Kingdom of God to our community and the world.

Sunday, November 29, 2020, 10:00 a.m.

1st Sunday of Advent

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:  I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind –“ 1 Corinthians 1:3-5

You are invited to join our 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning worship service either in person or at home viewing our Facebook page.  Our building is open for worship, but we have strict safety procedures in place, including a requirement that all wear masks.  Sunday is the 1st Sunday of Advent.  The sermon will be led by Susan Goe and will be a Service of Lessons and Carols as we decorate our Christmon Tree.  “Chrismon” is a combination of two words:  CHRISt and MONogram.  A Chrismon is a symbol of Christ.  Our hymns, which will be spoken by the congregation, sung by a duet, or played on the dulcimer include  “Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates”, “Angels from the Realms of Glory”, “What Wondrous Love is This”, “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today”, “Crown Him with Many Crowns”, and “Go, Tell It on the Mountain.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Although the church building is open for in-person worship and for our outside groups, our church office remains closed.  Calls to the church phone number are being forwarded to Susan Goe.
  • Important Announcement Regarding the Food Pantry – Because we are finding it challenging to keep the Pantry stocked and because some clients visit more the once a week, the Mission & Stewardship Committee has given the approval to just be open once a week, on Mondays, at least for the present time.  Pantry volunteers will monitor the need and make recommendations as to the need and other sources of supplies are being investigated.  Thank you for continuing to support the Food Pantry with your donations!
