The Day of Pentecost
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the
body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and we were all
made to drink of one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
Happy Birthday! You are invited to join our Sunday morning worship service live
at 10:00 a.m. on our Facebook page as we celebrate the Day of Pentecost, often
called the “birthday of the church.” On this day, we acknowledge Jesus’ promised
gift of the Holy Spirit to empower his disciples of every age to do his work in the
world. Pastor Lois Hildenbrand’s sermon is entitled “What’s Next? – part 2”
(Acts 2: 1-21; John 20:19-23). Hymns for the day are, “Come Holy Spirit,
Heavenly Dove”, “Breathe on Me, Breath of God” and “Spirit of God, Descend
Upon My Heart.”
