Co-Pastors Gerald C. Hammon & Susan M. Goe
Jerry Hammon and Susan Goe have been co-pastors at Mingus View Presbyterian Church since November, 2020.
Jerry is an ordained minister in the Christian Church — Disciples of Christ denomination and has been an ordained Presbyterian elder for many years. He graduated from the University of California in Berkeley and the Pacific School of Religion. After 10 years serving churches in California, Jerry moved into non-profit work dealing with housing and ultimately worked over 20 years for the Dept. of Housing & Urban Development.
Following retirement, Jerry and his wife, Shary, travelled extensively and they are the consummate volunteers. Jerry has written four books and has had many magazine articles published.
Susan hails originally from South Bend, Indiana, and has a bachelors and a masters degree from Indiana University. She is a life-long Presbyterian and has been an ordained Presbyterian elder since 1987. She and her husband, Rick, moved to the Cleveland, Ohio, area in 1987 and in 1988 she began her “church vocation” as Director of Christian Education at Independence Presbyterian Church. Susan worked there until she and Rick moved to Prescott Valley in 2007.
Susan was very active in the church and also in the Presbytery of the Western Reserve. She was also very involved in the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators professional organization. Since joining Mingus View, she has been an active elder and Clerk of Session.
Jerry and Susan are very excited to have this opportunity to serve God and Jesus Christ here at Mingus View and in our community. They invite all to join us for worship! Come get to know us!
