Advent: The Season of Hope!
The Advent/Christmas season is upon us. It is a busy time, but here are some activities to enhance the season.
- “An Unlikely Advent: Extraordinary People of the Christmas Story” will continue on Tuesday, December 5th, at 10:30 a.m. This study takes a close look at some of the unlikely people we encounter in the stories about Jesus’ birth, including Elizabeth & Zechariah and Herod the Great. If you have any questions, speak to Susan Goe.
- Advent Devotionals – Devotional booklets are available on the round table.
- CAMP CHRISTMAS at Ganado Presbyterian Church! Camp Christmas at our sister church in Ganado is a long-time tradition of the church. Mingus View has partnered with them over the years to provide the items that they can distribute to their community at the holidays. Most needed items are blankets; warm coats, hats, mittens, etc. – new or gently used; and personal care items (toothbrushes, paste, etc.) or cash for the Mission Team to purchase items for the gift bags. Boxes are located in the church foyer to accept your donations, for which we are grateful! Deadline for donations is December 17th!
- So many more thanks are in order for all your donations for the nurse at Mountain Valley Elementary School on Loos Drive. Nurse Stephanie is SO APPRECIATIVE! In addition to the nutritious snacks you’ve provided, she says the current needs are tiny bottles of water and Gator Aid; 5T Pull-ups; flushable wipes, Clorox Wipes; and as always size 6-8 sweatpants and 10-12 sweatshirts. It was suggested you hit up your grandkids and great-grandkids for outgrown clothing. Next time I visit, I will get a photo of the school and Nurse Stephanie so you can picture who we are helping! Thanks, Mingus View! You’re the best! Ceri
