Celebrating the Baptism of the Lord

“May the Lord give strength to his people!  May the Lord bless his people with peace!.” Psalm 29:11

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service either in person or on Face Book.  The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Meditation on the Sacraments” (Genesis 1:1-5; Psalm 29; Mark 1:4-11). Because of weather last week, the sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated.  The Chancel Choir  will sing “Out of Deep, Unordered Water.”  Hymns for day include: “There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit,” “Baptized in Water,” and “We are Called to Be God’s People.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Happy New Year!  Greeters and hosts for Fellowship Hour are needed in January!
  • Volunteers for the Food Pantry are needed!  Please sign up on the back       bulletin board.
  • Annual Reports are Due!  Just a reminder to moderators of all teams and          groups, reports for the 2023 Annual Report are due no later than Wednesday.           Speak to Susan Goe if you have any questions.
  • The Session has called for the Annual Meeting of the Congregation &         Corporation   of Mingus View Presbyterian Church for Sunday, January      28, 2024, at the close of close of the worship service.  The 2023 Annual         Report will be available next Sunday.
  • It’s Per Capita time, once again!  Per Capita funding is how Presbyterians        equally   and mutually share the cost of coming together to discern the Spirit’s         leading for the       future.   This year, the amount needed for each church          member in Grand Canyon Presbytery is $38.51, which is the same as the     past several years. Our church pays the       full amount for each   member in   January of each year.  We invite you to help support the overall church        budget by contributing $38.51, or whatever you can, for each member in     your   household.  We thank you so very much for all the support        you provide           to the church.
  • New information about the needs at Mountain View Elementary School on Loos Drive will be coming soon.   Thanks again for all your support for this mission project.
