Celebrating the Epiphany of the Lord

“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does

wondrous things.  Blessed be his glorious name forever;

may his glory fill the whole earth.”

Psalm 72:18-19

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service either in person or on Face Book.  The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Why Follow a Star?” (Isaiah 60:1-6; Matthew 2:1-12). The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated.  Special music will be provided by Janet Hansen and Fran Chadwick who will sing “Twas in the Moon of Wintertime.”  The Celebration Bell Choir will play “We Three Kings.”  Hymns for day include: “The First Noel,”  “Fairest Lord Jesus,” and “As With Gladness Men of Old.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Happy New Year!  Greeters and hosts for Fellowship Hour are needed in January!
  • Volunteers for the Food Pantry are needed!  Please sign up on the back       bulletin board.
  • REMINDER!  We will have our Annual Officers Retreat on Saturday, January 13th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  All newly elected elders & deacons and those whose terms are continuing should plan to attend.  This gathering also serves as our required annual joint meeting of elders and deacons, so we need to have a quorum from each board.  Please speak to Susan Goe if you have any questions.
  • Annual Reports are Due!  Just a reminder to moderators of all teams and          groups, reports for the 2023 Annual Report are due as soon as possible.        Speak     to Susan Goe if you have any questions.
  • It’s Per Capita time, once again!  Per Capita funding is how Presbyterians            equally and mutually share the cost of coming together to discern the Spirit’s         leading for the future.  Please read the attached “insert” that explains how          Per Capita works.  This year, the amount needed for each church         member in Grand Canyon Presbytery is $38.51, which is the same as the           past several years.
  • New information about the needs at Mountain View Elementary School on Loos Drive will be coming soon.   Thanks again for all your support for this mission project.
