Mother’s Day

If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.

John 14:15-16

You are invited to join us for our 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship service either in person or on YouTube Live (please see instructions below in the Announcements). The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “The Power & Promise of God’s Love.” (1 Peter 3:13-22; John 14: 15 – 21). The choir anthem will be “At the Name of Jesus” Hymns for the day include: “Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart”, “In Christ There is No East or West”, and “God of Our LIve.”

Upcoming Activities & Schedule Changes for May:

  • There will NOT be a Mission & Stewardship Team meeting on May 12th.
  • The May Regular Session meeting will be on THURSDAY, MAY 21st, at 1:30 p.m. (rescheduled from May 19th.)
  • May 24th is the Day of Pentecost. Wear Red! We will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion on that day. (We will not celebrate communion on June 7th.)
  • Also on May 24th, the Deacons will host an Ice Cream Social, so invite your family and friends to come celebrate!
  • Susan Goe will be on vacation from May 27th until June 10th.
  • The Rev. Margaret Hegeman will preach on May 31st and June 7th.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

  • Food Pantry suggestions for this week: We are seeing a large number of clients each week. Needs this week include: bagged beans and rice, diced tomatoes, sauces, boxed meals, canned fruit, canned mixed vegetables, canned corn, soups, peanut butter and jelly, and canned chicken. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted. Thanks!
  • Mother’s Day Project for Stepping Stones – In honor of Mother’s Day (May 10th), the Hope Circle is collecting personal care items, diapers, pajamas, etc. — anything to help the transition for the women and children clients at the Stepping Stones emergency shelter. The white baby crib is in the front hallway waiting to accept your gifts! Thank you!
  • Thank you for all your donations to Mountain View School this year. They are set with supplies to finish out the school year. We’ll gear up again in the summer!
  • FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN VIEWING OUR WORSHIP SERVICE ON THE LIVESTREAM —You will no longer access the Livestream via Facebook. Go to youtube.com and then MVPC Livestream. Click on “live” and it will show a list of live videos including an upcoming video for that morning.
