Celebrating the Ascension of the Lord

You are invited to join us for our 10:00 a.m. Sunday worship service either in person or on YouTube Live (please see instructions below in the Announcements). The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Gazing Skyward.” (Luke 24:44-53; Acts 1:1-14). The choir anthem will be “Come, Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain.” Hymns for the day include: “Come Sing, O Church, In Joy”, “Alleluia! Sing to Jesus”, and “I Love to Tell the Story.”

Upcoming Activities & Schedule Changes for May:
- The May Regular Session meeting will be on THURSDAY, MAY 21st, at 1:30 p.m. (rescheduled from May 19th.)
- May 24th is the Day of Pentecost. Wear Red! We will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion on that day. (We will not celebrate communion on June 7th.)
- Also on May 24th, the Deacons will host an Ice Cream Social, so invite your family and friends to come celebrate!
- Susan Goe will be on vacation from May 27th until June 10th.
- The Rev. Margaret Hegeman will preach on May 31st and June 7th.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Food Pantry suggestions for this week: We seeing a large number of clients each week. Needs this week include: bagged beans and rice, spaghetti sauces, spaghetti noodles, canned fruit, canned corn, canned chicken, canned tuna, cereal, instant potatoes, and condiments. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted. Thanks!
- The Hope Circle will meet on Wednesday, May 20th, at 10:00 a.m. Please read Lesson 9 and let Marilyn Walker know if you plan to attend!
- The Session will meet on THURSDAY, May 21st at 1:30 p.m. Meeting materials may be picked up in the office.
- Thank you for all your donations to Mountain View School this year. They are set with supplies to finish out the school year. We’ll gear up again in the summer!
