1st Sunday of Advent
“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, and security within your towers.’”

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service either in person or on YouTube Live (please see instructions below in the Announcements). Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent. The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Our Advent Invitation.” (Psalm 122; Isaiah 2:1-5; Matthew 24:36-44 ). The Choir anthem will be “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Hymns for the day include: “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus”, “Today We All Are Called to Be Disciples”, and “Soon and Very Soon.”

- Needed items for the Food Pantry this week include: Green beans, chicken, tuna, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, soup, boxed meals, mustard, ketchup. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted for the Food Pantry Fund. Thanks so much!
- “A Child is Born” is our Advent study. Author Amy-Jill Levine takes us on a journey to discover that behind our well-known, beloved nativity stories in Matthew and Luke are many other nativity stories found in the Hebrew scripture. This inspiring book is intended to help us connect these moving stories with the birth of Christ. Our study will begin on Tuesday, December 2nd, at 10:30 a.m. Books are available on the round table at the back. The books are $20.00 if you want to contribute to the cost. All are welcome to join us!
- Camp Christmas in Ganado! Our Mission & Stewardship Team is excited to once again invite you to participate in Camp Christmas at Ganado Presbyterian Church. Items needed are: personal care products, warm coats, gloves and mittens, blankets, etc. Cash donation are are also gratefully accepted to buy the gift bags and supplies. Please have your donations to the church by Sunday, December 7th and THANK YOU for helping to make Camp Christmas a success each year!
- From Ceri Woodworth: “I delivered your generous donations to Mountain View Elementary School and again, you came through with flying colors! Someone donated medical gloves – perfect! They needed the Tums that very day I delivered them! An organization from the school came and took all her water bottles, so Nurse Stephanie’s eyes lit up when she saw all the bottles! Goldfish – the kids’ favorites! So thank you for your dedication to the school nurse. New ideas: Stephanie said she could use girls shirts – sizes 6-10, tennis shoes sizes 13 (child) to 5 (adult), and saltines She always appreciates the small water bottles, Goldfish, chips, sweatpants and leggings sizes 6-8, and underwear sizes 6-8. Thank you, Mingus View!!
- Christmas Joy Offering – The Mission & Stewardship Committee invites you to participate in the annual “Christmas Joy Offering”, a special offering of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Envelopes may be found in the pews.
- The Hope Circle will meet on Wednesday, December 17th, at 10:00 a.m. At 11:00 a.m., all are invited to join Circle members for a Holiday Brunch/Potluck.
- Christmas Eve – Our Chirstmas Eve Candlelight Service on Wednesday, December 24th, will begin at 5:00 p.m.
- The Christmas Eve tradition continues – just in a different location. Our post- Christmas Eve service gathering will be here at the church this year! Join your church family for a great time of fellowship and delicious food! A sign up sheet is on the round table to let us know if you plan to attend!
