You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service either in person or on YouTube Live via our Facebook page. The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “The Dangers of Prosperity.” (Hebrews 4:12-16; Mark 10:17-31.) The choir anthem will be “Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley.” Hymns for the day include: “Our God, Our Help in Ages Past” “Lord Speak to Me That I May Speak,” and “O Word of God Incarnate.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Susan Goe will be on vacation from 10/14 through 10/21. If you have any pastoral needs, please contact your pastoral deacon or Jerry Hammon.
  • The Hope Circle will meet on Wednesday, October 23rd, this month because of Susan’s vacation.
  • The Session of Mingus View Presbyterian Church has called for a meeting of the congregation on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the close of worship, for the purpose of electing new elders and deacons. Copies of the 2025 Annual Budget, approved by Session on October 1, 2024, are available on the table at the back of the sanctuary. Time will be given on the agenda for questions.
  • Great News! Our sister church in Ganado will once again this year be able to have their Camp Christmas! It’s been several years and we’re thrilled to be able to help out with gifts once again. Needed items are personal care products, warm coats, gloves, scarves, blankets, etc. More information will be available soon regarding deadlines, etc, but we wanted you to start thinking about helping out. Thanks!
  • Our Mingus View Craft Faire & Bake Sale is less than three weeks away! The dates this year are November 1st and 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day. Invite your friends and plan to attend! If you can contribute for the bake sale or volunteer your time, please speak to Gerri Runge.
  • Thank you so very much to everyone who helped re-stock the Pantry shelves. The list of needs remains the same with a special need for soup and canned chicken, plus peanut butter, plain pasta, spaghetti sauces, bags of beans and/or rice, ketchup, jelly, cereal, Spam, boxed meals such as noodles or Rice-a-roni, etc, canned tuna, canned veggies, canned fruits. Of course, we appreciate any donations!
