21st Sunday after Pentecost

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name . . . Worship the Lord in holy splendor.” Psalm 96:8a, 9a

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service, either in person or on Face Book.  The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “No One Likes to Pay Taxes.” (Psalm 96:1-9; Matthew 22:15-22; 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10).  The Chancel Choir will sing “When in the Night I Meditate.”  Hymns for the day include “God of Grace and God of Glory,” “God Whose Giving Knows No Ending”: and “We Are Called to Be God’s People.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Greeters and hosts for Fellowship Hour are needed!  Also, the Craft Faire Committee is asking you to sign up to bake for the Craft & Bake sale November 3 & 4, and to help work the Craft Faire.  Sign up sheets are posted on the back bulletin board.
  • The Session of Mingus View Presbyterian Church has called for the Fall Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the close of worship.  Main item of business is the election of elders and deacons.  The 2024 Operating Budget will also be available for information and there will be a short report about the “Firm Foundations” project.
  • Looking Ahead – Put on your best costume and participate in “Trunk or Treat” in the Mingus View parking lot on Halloween, beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Last year we had so much fun so grab some treats and come out to meet the neighbors!
  • Trunk or Treat – continued!  We have really nifty lights and decorations for our parking lot on Halloween. BUT – we need some help to get everything ready.  If you would be available to help out, please speak to Bev Williams.  THANKS in advance!
