World Communion Sunday

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service either in person or on YouTube Live (please see instructions below in the Announcements). This Sunday is World Communion Sunday, when we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper with Christians all around the world. The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “Spread the Word,” (Luke 17:1-10; Lamentations 1:1 – 7; Habakkuk 1:1-4,2:1-4). The choir anthem will be “O Savior in This Quiet Place.” Hymns for the day include: “O God of Every Nation,” and “I Come With Joy.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Needed items for the Food Pantry include: Spam, soups, mac & cheese, green beans, carrots, rices, pastas, ravioli, spaghetti sauce, fruit, cereal, peanut butter, jam and boxed meals. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted for the Food Pantry Fund. Thanks so much!
  • Thanks are in order again! Stephanie Clinton, the nurse at Mountain View Elementary School, was overwhelmed at our first two beginning- of-the-year deliveries. Many of the office staff were present also and could not believe your generosity! Some new and some different requests were made this time. They love that you send the little water bottles, that’s the number one item she gives out. Clothing: sweatpants and leggings, size 7-8 and neutral (blue, black, white) t-shirts, sizes 6-7, 7-8. The little ones lose their teeth and come to the office for snack-size baggies. Medical supplies: Tums, Ibuprofen for children, and small rubber medical gloves. The children especially like Goldfish for snacks. Again, when you bring items, put them in the cute little school bus in the Narthex. Thank you so much for your help!
  • The next open discussion meeting regarding planning for the future of Mingus View will be on Tuesday, October 7th, at 1:30 p.m.
  • The Mission Team has put together an inventory of Medical Supply Equipment that is available for any one to borrow should the need arise. Most small items are here at the church; larger items remain in people’s homes. The list can be found on the back bulletin board. If you or a loved one has need of a walker, wheelchair, etc. consult the list and we can probably help you out.
  • FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN VIEWING OUR WORSHIP SERVICE ON THE LIVESTREAM —You will no longer access the Livestream via Facebook. Go to youtube.com and then MVPC Livestream. Click on “live” and it will show a list of live videos including an upcoming video for that morning.
