Baptism of the Lord
“John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus. On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 19:4-5
You are invited to join our 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning worship service VIRTUALLY ONLY on our Facebook page. Sunday is the day on the church calendar when we recognize the baptism of Jesus by remembering our own baptism and reaffirming the vows made on that occasion. The title of Susan Goe’s message is “The Responsibility of Being Beloved” (Mark 1: 4 – 11). Janet Hansen & Fran Chadwick will sing “When Jesus Came to Jordan.” Music will be provided so that our hymns may be sung and they include “Morning Has Broken”, and “To God Be the Gory.”

It’s Per Capita time, once again! Per Capita funding is how Presbyterians equally and mutually share the cost of coming together to discern the Spirit’s leading for the future. The councils of the three higher governing bodies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) determine the funds needed to run their own regional office for the given year. The amount per person is determined and then multiplied by the reported membership for each church.
The amount needed for each church member of Grand Canyon Presbytery to support the three governing bodies in 2021 is $38.51.
And just so you know, our Church pays the full amount for each member in January of each year. We invite you to help support the overall church budget by contributing $38.51 for each member in your household. Any money that you contribute will be returned to the General Fund. We thank so very much for all the support you provide to the church.
Previously scheduled events for January such as the January Session meeting, annual officer’s retreat, service of Installation & Ordination, and the Annual Meeting of the Congregation, have all been postponed until, hopefully, sometime in February. Watch for announcements in your e-mail.
