The Baptism of the Lord

“This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:17

You are invited to join us on Sunday for our 10:00 a.m. worship service, either in person or on Face Book.  The title of Susan Goe’s sermon is “And So It Begins” (Acts 10:34-43; Matthew 3: 1 – 6, 13-17.)  The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated, as we delayed it from last week.  Special music will be “John,”  sung by Sue Von Hagel.  Hymns for the day include “As a Deer,”  “Baptized in Water,” and “In Christ There is No East or West.”

          Monday       Food Pantry Open, 9 – 11 a.m.

          Wednesday  Crafternooners, 1:00 p.m.

Thursday     Bell Choir Rehearsal, 1:00 p.m.

          Saturday      Church Officer’s Retreat, 9:00 a.m. – noon

  • Annual Reports are Due!  Just a reminder to moderators of all committees and groups, reports for the 2022 Annual Report are due no later that Wednesday, please.  The complete Annual Report needs to be in the hands of the congregation next Sunday.  Speak to Susan Goe if you have any questions.
  • The Annual Church Officer Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, January 14th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  All elders and deacons, including those recently elected, are expected to attend.
  • It’s Per Capita time, once again!  Per Capita funding is how Presbyterians equally and mutually share the cost of coming together to discern the Spirit’s leading for the future.  Please read the attached “insert” that explains how Per Capita works.  This year, the amount needed for each church member in Grand Canyon Presbytery is $38.51, which is the same as the past 2 years.
  • At long last, there is a DRAFT Mingus View phone directory available for your review.  Please check your listing, make any additions or corrections, and put a check mark next to your name if it’s all correct.
